School Garden Experiment

We finally found our “pumpkin”! Today, we dug up our experiments from the fall. The students were able to observe that the pumpkin (at least most of it) and the food items were “gone”. As we continued to dig, they noticed all of plastic trash left behind. We learned how natural materials decompose fairly easily while other materials are not biodegradable. This will help us continue to think about how humans affect Earth’s surface as well as launching our study of different habitats.
